“If you put your time into the Lord, He will put His time into you.”

“My first semester at college was rough. I took 18 credits (8 classes) and I was in over my head. One of the first devotionals of the semester really inspired me. I don’t remember who was speaking or exactly how he said it, but it really stuck me. He said something along the lines of, “If you put your time into the Lord, He will put His time into you.” I decided to test it out. What could it hurt? So I made sure that I did everything I could that I know Heavenly Father would want me to do. I went to all my church meetings, every FHE (family home evening), every devotional and took notes, and I went to the temple once a week. I read my scriptures everyday, prayed morning and night, and wrote in my journal every other day. With all my credits and homework, I would have never thought that I would have time to do all of that and get everything done that I needed to for school. Because I did what my Heavenly Father wanted me to do, He put time in my life that I needed to get everything else done. There was no way that I could have done everything that I did. Heavenly Father put more time in my life that was really there. I ended that semester with a 3.5 GPA and with a strong testimony of doing what Heavenly Father has counseled and everything will work out right. I encourage you to test it out for yourself. Whatever you think that you are doing that you won’t have time for spiritual things, think again. Do the things that God wants you to do first, and everything else will fall into place. I say these things in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.” -Sister Stephanie Echols

Effort, Obedience… Blessings

“I have been blest as I have consistently studied my scriptures. I notice a difference in my day if I have put honest effort into my daily scripture study (for instance, plan what I want to study and take notes) rather than just going through the motions of reading scripture. I feel greater confidence when I have studied.
“Another experience I had a few weeks ago was with an investigator. She was having trouble stopping smoking so the bishop suggested we fast for her and invite her to join in the fast. We did and she quite smoking!!! After months of trying, making it a few days then slipping up, she has now gone over 12 weeks without smoking. She says the
temptation is always there, but each time she thinks about smoking she thinks of her ‘girls’ going without food because they loved her enough. I saw obedience to the lords law of the fast strengthen me and her. She has told us that she has been blessed with being able to taste her food again, she has made it to church more often and is getting close to baptism. Her obedience to the word of wisdom is changing her life.” -Sister Jessica Morrill

I Know…

“I want to bear you my testimony that I know this gospel is true. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and he loves us very much. I also know that we have a loving Father in Heaven who loves us very much and wants us to be happy and return to him. I know that we all have a mission on earth and if we follow the commandments of God and listen to the Spirit we will know what path we should be taking. I know that the life is hard and we are often led astray but what matters most is how we overcome that and come back to our Father. We would not have free agency if we only had goodness. We must have temptation and pain and suffering in order for us to know what goodness is. We were not asked to be perfect in this life only that we do our best to be good and righteous. I love my Heavenly Father and my elder brother Jesus Christ. I am so grateful that I have their loving guidance in my life. I know we are all children of God and he loves each and everyone of us no matter what we do. I bear this testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.” -Sister Teresa Perkins

Jesus Christ is my Savior

“I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and brother. He atoned for me personally and I am grateful for the blessings of the atonement. I know the Temple is a sacred and holy place. The blessings we gain from the Temple are more than worth striving towards. I love the Temple so much! As an EFY (Especially for Youth) counselor this summer I had the opportunity to teach the First Vision to my girls every week. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and I know my testimony was strengthened because of it. I know Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ in the grove that beautiful day. Just as our Father called him by name, He knows us also by name and very individually. I know with all my heart that He loves each and every one of us and He wants us to return to him. I know through experience that as we pray to Him, He will hear and answer our prayers, even if it’s not the answer we want. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet here on the earth today. As we listen to his counsel and that of the other general authorities we can endure to the end. I love this gospel so much and I know that every bit of it is true. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.” -Sister Shawnee Ellis
