I have this friend at home, who is constantly gives me gray hair because said individual makes some of the most ridiculous decisions I’ve ever heard of, and then has to spend a huge portion of their time retracing their steps, repenting, and just wallowing in misery because they forgot a few HUGE fundamentals that the Lord has shared with us so we avoid these pitfalls, side roads, canyons and crazy trails that are no where near the “straight and narrow”.
Number 1 thing to always, always, ALWAYS remember: YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD. Therefore, you have a noble birthright, and that entitles you to success and eternal life! You have a place at the right hand of God and He fully expects you to attain that.
Number 2: SATAN HATES YOU and if you give that individual an inch, he’ll take it a mile and hang you with the rope you give him later… so just quit while you’re ahead and remember that you have so much the advantage. You chose to come to earth, which means you chose to follow God’s plan, and you did so fully aware that this life would contain trials, but you came with the knowledge that there would be a way to overcome it.
Number 3: YOU ARE AMAZING!!! God created you because only you have the necessary gifts and talents that He has blessed you with. Sure, there are many people who have similar talents, but you are unique. God made you the way you are because you have unique things to accomplish on this Earth, that no one else can do.
So my wish for ya’ll: REMEMBER YOUR DIVINE HERITAGE. You are children of the Most High God, and as such you have the amazing blessing to overcome all that comes your way, and you need never let Satan win any battle he may wage against you. As a son or daughter of the Almighty God, you have every advantage you could ever hope for. Think of the tools and blessings he’s given us:
- The Atonement
Etc, etc, etc. All the things we enjoy if life can be used as a tool to overcome all things! When you’re in the thick of it, ponder your blessings. Think of all the things that are going right in your life, and hold on to that. You are so loved by so many, and none love you more than Heavenly Father.
I hope this is encouraging, and that it helps you remember what God thinks of you. Stay strong. Charge the mountain! Chin up, and “get-r-dun” so you can one day reflect on your life and say “I did it!”
Much love, Sister Yates
