Love is Strength

There is an amazing verse in the Book of Momron and it says:

And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.”

I love this verse!  It clearly states the best way to be successful: Build a foundation on Christ.  Let Him be your rock.  Let Him be there for you.  He’s already suffered for your sins, so why not let Him help you withstand all the storms of Satan, all the trials of life, and all the things that are nearly impossible to overcome alone? Why wouldn’t you let Christ be your companion throughout your “mile”? It logically doesn’t make sense… So why do so many of us struggle with allowing our beloved older brother to be apart of our lives?

I feel that it’s because we don’t feel worthy of love.  Satan knows how much love matters.  If it weren’t for love, the Plan of Salvation would never have been created, and there would be no point to God in general (which also just is illogical).  Satan knows that if he can make us feel unworthy of love, from anyone (not just Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ) he can really get a grip on us, and do some damage.  It is so hard to feel strong in a world overrun by the creator of all evil, negativity, and chaos.  Don’t feel like you’re the only one struggling.  No matter how strong your testimony is, it’s still a constant battle to be “steadfast and immovable” and be securely built on the “rock of our redeemer”.

The best thing I’ve ever come to know is this: God’s love is real, and He loves me.  And along with that, if He loves me because I’m His daughter, doesn’t that mean He loves everyone? YES! How marvelous is that? If God loves me, and we’re all His children, shouldn’t we all love each other unconditionally as He does? YES! Don’t you think it would just infuriate Satan (who’s chronically angry anyway because he is missing out on so much goodness…) if we all flooded the world with unconditional love? If we stopped bickering about politics, and stopped blaming the world for our personal problems, and just focused on love, and positivity, don’t you think the world would start to change? I don’t think… I know it would.

So the commitment for today: Be a conduit of love.  Be a vessel of the Lord so His spirit can pour forth from you.  “Bless them that curse you” and stand strong on your Rock.  If you have yet to establish a foundation on Christ: Get it done! There is not enough time in the day to be wallowing in misery and these ridiculous feelings of unworthiness.  God doesn’t demand perfection.  He doesn’t really demand anything.  He simply asks us to do small and simple things each day so we can have success and joy in our “mile”.  It’s not hard brothers and sisters, and I know that we can conquer all that comes our way if we will but build a foundation on Christ, and no one else.

I want to express my love for each of you who read this.  Just because I may not know you in this life, doesn’t mean we weren’t friends once a long (or at least what feels like a long time) ago when we were in the preexistence.  I want you to know that you are a beloved child or God, and He will never turn away from you.  Get over your doubts and fears that He doesn’t love you or will never forgive or accept any stupid things that we humans do.  It’s not true.  Such feelings are not of God, so cast them from your mind and turn to your Father in Heaven, and your brother Jesus Christ who love you eternally and unconditionally.  And in turn,  Love One Another.  I know that by doing these things, the world will become a better place, and our “mile” will go so much smoother.

Stay positive, stay excellent, endure to the end.

Love always, Sister Yates
